June 26, 2015: In shock, the hotel guests packed their bags and wanted to leave the area and return to their home countries. A terrorist attack took place at a hotel in the tourist area of Port El Kantaoui, north of Sousse. A young Tunisian terrorist opened fire for nearly half an hour on tourists, from the hotel beach all the way to the front desk, leaving a preliminary death toll of 39 among tourists and Tunisian employees, before being shot dead by law enforcement.
